Entry Requirements
UK passport holders receive a free visa on arrival, valid for stays up to 30 days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from arrival.
Best Time to Visit
Plan your trip between November and March when the weather is pleasantly warm and ideal for sightseeing, beach days, and desert excursions.
Vaccinations
No specific vaccines are required, but it’s wise to be up to date with routine immunisations like hepatitis A, typhoid, and tetanus.
Currency
The UAE Dirham (AED) is the local currency. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are easily accessible across the city.
Language
Arabic is the official language, but English is spoken fluently in hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions throughout Abu Dhabi.

Taxis are metered, safe, and affordable. Apps like Uber and Careem are also available. There’s limited public transport, so private cars or transfers are most convenient.
Weather Awareness
Summer can be extremely hot. During May to September, limit outdoor activities during peak midday heat and stay well hydrated at all times.
Alcohol Rules
Alcohol is served in licensed venues such as hotel bars and restaurants. Drinking in public spaces or being visibly intoxicated outside is not permitted.
Ramadan Travel
If travelling during Ramadan, expect reduced daytime dining options and quieter streets. Many hotels still offer meals for non-fasting visitors.
